Consumer Therapy – New Releases (Week of 11/7/2011)

Thirdand7: Consumer Therapy. Each week we will spotlight some of the latest CD and DVD; So check out the latest installment below.

CD Releases

  • Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Soundtrack. I know, I know. We are spotlighting some new releases and here I got with a Twilight entry? Well, it’s a slow week for releases and the Twilight soundtracks actually have some decent stuff on them. And if you care, I’m on Team Jacob. Recommended for fans of: Christina Perri, Bruno Mars
  • Angels & Airwaves: Love. Tom DeLonge created Angels & Airwaves when Blink disappeared from our lives. This is the 3rd/4th release from the band, and they have continued with their experimental prog-rock opera. Pretty decent stuff, if you like songs over 6 mins long.  Recommended for fans of: 30 Seconds to Mars, Blink 182
  • NOW! That’s What I Call Music: Volume 40. I had to spotlight this for the simple fact that this is NUMBER 40! Are you serious? The amusing thing about this series is that it is always, ALWAYS in the top 10 each week it is released. That means there are a lot of honest people/soccer moms still buying this thing. Recommended for fans of: Pop Music

DVD Releases

  • Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part Two. The epic saga about a boy wizard comes to a close. I have to admit that I, in a way, rebelled against them seriously until 3 movies ago. Since then, I have crammed watching all them together and found them to be very enjoyable, especially the latest ones as they are darker and Hermione is older, so it’ s not weird to think she’s hot. Recommended for fans of: Harry Potter Saga, Lord of the Rings
  • The Change Up. Very let down by this movie, if you want to know more, read my reviewRecommended for fans of: Horrible Bosses, Freaky Friday
  • Page Eight. A BBC Films production with a stellar cast: Bill Nighy, Rachel Weisz, Ralph Fiennes. Haven’t seen it, but Entertainment Weekly told me I have to. Recommended for fans of: Sherlock Holmes, Luther

  1. Worth noting that the new Call of Duty Game came out today. Modern Warfare III will most likely become the highest selling game of the year. Jr high kids were waiting overnight for it.

I’ve played each of the COD games and after the dissapointment of “Black Ops,” I think this will be a huge rebound for the franchise.
