Consumer Therapy – New Releases (Week of 9/19/2011)

Newly revised segment for Thirdand7: Consumer Therapy. Each week we will spotlight some of the latest CD and DVD releases that we either enjoy or are being paid to endorse (I wish). So check out the latest installment below.

CD Releases

  • Gavin DeGraw- Sweeter. Mediocre Pop Crooner whose last 2 albums have produced at least some radio hits. Buy it for your girlfriend or your mom’s birthday. Recommended for fans of: Augustana, OneRepublic
  • Tony Bennett- Duets II. The man is still making classic pop renditions now with some of today’s hottest artists. Recommended for fans of: Frank Sinatra, Michael Buble
  • Pearl Jam- PJ 20. I’m going to assume that if you are reading this you probably have your own collection of Pearl Jam songs/albums. This is the soundtrack for the new Cameron Crowe documentary chronicling his own love for the band that helped keep grunge (and Seattle) on the map. Recommended for fans of: Pearl Jam, Nirvana, The Seattle Sound

DVD Releases

  • Bridesmaids. I’ve been told that this movie is absolute hilarious and to some parties even funnier than Hangover Part II. I have yet to see it, but it’s at the top of the queue. Recommended for fans of: Knocked Up, SNL
  • Dumbo.  The Disney classic gets an updated mastering of visual and audios to accompany the now BluRay Release. Recommended for fans of: Snow White and the Seven Dwarves, Cinderella
  • Modern Family: Second Season.  The newly annointed Best Comedy Series by the Emmy voters, Modern Family appears to be a funny sitcom, I’ve only seen 1 episode but it seems legit. Recommended for fans of: The Office, Raising Hope
