In Cinemas…Transformers: Dark of the Moon

It’s Summer, there must be a Transformers movie in theaters right? You got it! The popular film series based on the classic Hasbro toy line is back and better than ever in 3D. Now I have a soft spot in my heart for Transformers, mostly because I love Michael Bay even if he is kind of a douche and not a critically acclaimed director; the man knows how to make a “Popcorn” movie.

Summer Movie Season is a special time for me. It’s the best opportunity to escape the realism of life and immerse myself in crazy special effects and action sequences that are unexplainable.  I feel that if you are choosing to be a moviegoer during the Summer months, you should be viewing films such as “Transformers”. Don’t waste your $20 on seeing a film like “Bad Teacher”. Waste your $20 on seeing a film that cannot be duplicated on your HD TV in your living room.

“Transformers: Dark of the Moon” marks the conclusion (for now) of the Transformers series. This is not a spoiler alert, this is direct quote from Michael Bay himself; he’s done. I feel that they went out on the right foot, if this is indeed the end of the Autobots. I was a big fan of “Transformers” and fell in love with Shia LaBeouf. “Transformers: Rise of the Fallen”…Not so much. So I was pleasantly surprised during my experience watching when the film turned out to not be a pile of poo. You know what you’re getting into with “Dark of the Moon”: crazy action/special effects, limited storyline and some gratutious American Flag slo-mo shots. I recommend seeing the film in 3D, it was definately noticeable and perfected. If you’re looking for some escapism this Summer, first see “Super 8“, then go see “Transformers: Dark of the Moon”

At least until “Captain America” arrives July 22nd.
